Genesis Health Clubs -Saw Mill Club offers numerous children’s swim programs to keep your kids confident and safe in the pool. Please check the schedule linked below for the latest program dates and session times. Online registration opens 2 weeks before each new scheduled session and closes once the session starts. Water Babies

This class focuses on helping young swimmers feel comfortable in the pool while building water readiness skills. Parents or caregivers join their child in the water to practice gentle holds, supported floats, kicking, arm movements, and safe water entry and exit. Through songs, games, and age-appropriate activities, participants develop basic water skills and confidence—laying the foundation for a lifetime of water safety.

Learn To Swim Level 1: Introduction To Water Skills

This beginner-level class focuses on water safety and introduces basic aquatic skills, including entering and exiting the water, blowing bubbles, bobbing, and retrieving objects underwater. Swimmers will learn front and back glides and floats, basic arm and leg movements, and how to roll between front and back. Safety skills and treading water using arm and hand actions are also introduced. Skills may be performed with support as needed.

Exit Requirements:
Enter water unassisted, travel 5 yards, bob 3 times, and safely exit
Glide on front for 2 body lengths, roll to a back float for 3 seconds, and recover to vertical (with support if needed)

Learn To Swim Level 2: Fundamentals of Water Skills

This class builds on the introductory skills learned in Level 1 and supports swimmers who are comfortable in the water but still need support with fundamental techniques. Swimmers will learn to confidently enter chest-deep water, submerge fully, and perform skills such as bobbing, floating, gliding, and retrieving submerged objects. The class introduces front and back floats and glides with recovery to a vertical position, as well as rolling between front and back. Swimmers will begin combining arm and leg actions on both front and back, practice treading water, changing direction while swimming, and using basic safety skills.

Exit Requirements:
Step from the side into chest deep water, move into a front float for 5 seconds, roll to back, float for 5 seconds, then return to a vertical position
Push off and swim, using combined arm and leg actions on front for 5 body lengths, roll to back, float for 15 seconds, roll to front, then continue for 5 body lengths (can be assisted when getting a breath)

Learn To Swim Level 3: Refinement of Water Skills

This class builds on the Fundamental skills learned in Level 2 for swimmers who are ready to build endurance and refine technique in deeper water. Swimmers will practice deep water entries, rotary breathing, and improve float and tread water skills. Focus is placed on learning the front crawl and elementary backstroke for greater distances, as well as mastering survival float and back float. Swimmers will also develop flutter, scissors, and dolphin kicks and begin swimming In a streamlined position.

Exit Requirements:
Jump into deep water from the side, swim front crawl for 15 yards, maintain position by treading or floating for 30 seconds and swim elementary backstroke for 15 yards

Learn To Swim Level 4: Stroke Technique Training

This class builds on the skills learned in Level 2 while focusing on refining swim strokes and building endurance in deep water. Swimmers will learn advanced entries, surface dives, and underwater swimming, along with survival swimming and multiple treading techniques. Stroke development includes front crawl and elementary backstroke for 25 yards, plus breaststroke, back crawl, butterfly, and sidestroke for 15 yards each. Swimmers will also practice open turns and streamline kicking on front and back.

Exit Requirements:
Perform a feet first entry into deep water, swim front crawl for 25 yards, change direction and position as necessary, and swim elementary backstroke for 25 yards
Swim breaststroke for 15 yards, change direction and position as necessary, and swim back crawl for 15 yards

Learn To Swim Level 5: Pre Competitive Swim Clinic

This class focuses on advancing and refining all major swim strokes and building endurance. Swimmers will learn to perform shallow-angle dives into deep water, surface dives, and tread water for 5 minutes using sculling techniques. Stroke development includes front crawl and elementary backstroke (50 yards each), and breaststroke, back crawl, butterfly, and sidestroke (25 yards each). Flip turns for front and back crawl are introduced, along with important water safety skills.

Exit Requirements:
Perform a shallow-angle dive into deep water, swim front crawl for 50 yards, change direction and position of travel as necessary, and swim elementary backstroke for 50 yards Swim breaststroke for 25 yards, change direction and position of travel as necessary, and swim back crawl for 25

Private swim lessons are designed to meet the swimmer’s individual needs and goals. Whether for one lesson, to touch up on a skill or a series of lessons to master a new skill, private lessons can be conveniently scheduled to match your availability. From children to adults, our instructors are happy to work with all skills and ability levels.
