Five Edge Kids in 4 Finals at USTA Tournaments 4/17/16
It was a very strong showing of players representing the Edge (High Performance Junior Academy) from Saw Mill Club at the USTA L2 tournament at TI in White Plains this last weekend.
Chess Camp at Saw Mill Club
This summer, The Westchester Chess School will be holding a series of one week chess camps at Saw Mill Club.
Camp Features
Students will learn tactics, opening principles and endgame theory
Chess notation and use of the chess clock will be covered
Chess etiquette and everything needed to be able to play in a tournament will be covered
We will take breaks from chess to get exercise at the club’s pool and basketball court
Chess camp run by Peter Barkman, veteran chess teacher, player and tournament director
Advanced students and those who already have a rating will cover difficult material
