ACE Aquatics
Saw Mill Club Swim Team

Saw Mill Club swim team, is an age group United States Swimming competitive program for athletes ages 6–18. The team competes in USA swim meets in the Metropolitan LSC. The competitive swim season begins mid-September and continues through mid March. Regional USS Championship meets are scheduled for late February to mid-March.

Days and Practice
Times vary according to the age of the swimmer. We offer flexibility within the practice schedule, affording swimmers the opportunity to continue with other after school activities. Weekly practice requirements and availability vary with the participant’s age.

  • Children ages six to eight are offered three practices a week, and are required to attend practice at least twice a week.
  • Children aged nine and ten are offered four practices a week; we require them to attend at least two.
  • Children aged eleven and twelve are offered four practices a week and are required to attend three.
  • Swimmers thirteen and above have five hour and one half practices, and are required to attend three.

We encourage our swimmers to attend more practices than the required number. With approval from the head coach, swimmers may be allowed to practice up an age group. As part of the swimmers training program, we offer the option of adding one or two dry land practices for an additional fee.

Registration Information
To insure appropriate swimmer to coach ratio, quality practice time and equitable competitive entries, the team dynamics allow for fifteen swimmers in each of the five age groups, of each sex. All 2007–2008 Ace swimmers will receive a registration packet in the mail for the 2008–2009 season. For swim team purposes, the year begins in September. Commitment for returning swimmers will be due by August 25.

For potential New Team Members
Evaluations will be held in September. Placement will be recommended in any of the three core programs: swim team, swim clinic or swim lessons.

Tryouts
September 2–5 from 4:00–6:00pm. Anyone interested in trying out, must be on deck at 4:00pm on one of the above dates. Packets with fees, practice schedules, holiday schedules and meet schedules will be handed out once the applicant has been accepted on the team.
