ExplorerS

The class is busy learning about The First Thanksgiving and decorating the classroom.

We are finishing up numbers 1-10 in our Redbooks and we are going to start the alphabet shortly. They have been busy practicing writing their names and working on their monthly journals.

Don’t forget that Pajama Day is on Friday, November 21st. The class will have milk and cookies and read bedtime stories. There will be a class discussion on how important sleep is and going to bed when their parents tell them to. Please have them wear sneakers with their pajamas instead of slippers, so they don’t slip and fall. This is a class favorite.

Adventurers
We will continue our work on the alphabet, focusing on letters Gg-Ii. We will talking about how animals and humans prepare for the winter months. We will also be introducing our first color of the month, which for November will be red:

Please bring in five red cut outs, (example: pictures from a magazine), for your child to make a red collage for their color journal.

Throughout the month we will also be busy decorating our classroom for Thanksgiving and having many class discussions about the meaning of the holiday.  Each child will have a chance to think and talk about what is special to them and what they are thankful for.

SeekerS
This month we will be leaning about families, friends, pilgrims/native Americans and thanksgiving. We will learn letters F, G and H, the number 3 and the color brown.

We are happy to welcome Miss Angela to our class.  She will be here all year.  This will be especially helpful while Miss Francesca is home taking care of her baby during the winter months!
